Spicy Dahi Bread Chaat

 Bread chunks, in spite of the fact that of western origin, have been capably used by Indians in numerous indigenous arrangements including bhajias and upma. Here is another such energizing desi creation with bread. Solid bread cubes covered with a tangy curd masala are prepared and sautéed till dark colored and crispy. You will appreciate each sizable chunk of the Spicy Dahi Bread Chaat.


Ingredients

1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing)
3 to 4 curry leaves (kadi patta)
1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
1/4 cup thinly sliced onions
¼ cup finely sliced tomato
5 bread slices , cut into cubes
1/2 cup curds (dahi)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
2 tbsp oil
tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)  (For Garnishing)

Procedure to Make Spicy Dahi Bread Chaat

  • Combine the chilli powder, curds, turmeric powder and salt with 2 tbsp of water in a bowl and     blend well.
  • Add the bread squares pieces and mix till the bread is covered with the curds blend. Keep aside.
  • Heat the oil in a wide non-stick container and include the cumin seeds.
  • When the seeds starts crackle, add the curry leaves, asafoetida and ginger and sauté on medium flame for a few moments.
  • Add the onion cuts and saute on a medium fire for 1 to 2 minutes or till they are turen golden in color and then add tomato and cover it for 3-4 minutes so that it become soft. 
  • Add the bread blend and sauté on an ease slow fire for 1 to 2 minutes or till the bread hands light darker over shading, while at the same time mixing every so often.
  • Serve hot decorated with coriander.
